چکیده

Abstract Background The pelvis is a complex structure associated with major neurovascular structures and so pelvic surgery can be challenging. In the field of skeletal tumours, surgeon's main aim to achieve adequate margins, which modern 3D printed technology assist with. Method A 43-year-old man was found have 20(CC) x 13(AO) 9.3(TR) cm chondrasarcoma at inner aspect right iliac bone. patient consented for sided type 1 hemipelvectomy tumour resection using customised Printed Jig. 64-slice spiral CT transferred an image processing software (Materialise Mimics 21.0 Materialise 3 Matic 13.0) generate model. Jig by FDM machine in ABS material sterilised. Incision made through standard ilioinguinal approach visualised. Soft tissue dissected over posterior Ilium placement jig then fixed k wire, following osteotomy done. Results Postoperatively had no complications. At final follow up 4 years, independently ambulant. Post op x-ray showed signs recurrence operated site. Conclusions This case highlights importance preoperative planning use surgical resection. Customised jigs help surgeons good resections R0 margins.

iatrogenic aspiration of custom-made keel: a case report

conclusions endoscopic keel placement should be done with heavy suture through cricothyroid and thyrohyoid membranes. surgeons should suture the keel to the anterior laryngeal wall with specially designed lichtenberger’s needle-carriers to prevent complications such as keel aspiration, adhesion formation and imposing a second trip under general anesthetics, which put the patient at increased ri...

Iatrogenic Aspiration of Custom-Made Keel: A Case Report

INTRODUCTION Laryngeal stenosis has various causes and treatment options. Endoscopic resection of the stenotic part with CO2 laser is one of the treatment options of laryngotracheal stenosis. Keels are useful for preventing adhesion formation, restenosis and web formation, which may happen during the later stage. They can be put in place either via the endoscopic approach or through a micro thy...

Paraneoplastic vasculitis associated to pelvic chondrosarcoma: a case report

Vasculopathic syndromes have been associated with hematological and solid organ malignancies. The pathogenesis of these syndromes remains largely unknown and there are no biologic markers identified. Whether it is or is not a paraneoplastic syndrome is under discussion, the close temporal relationship of cancer and vasculitis suggests that these vasculitides are a paraneoplastic condition. We r...

mandibular reconstruction using custom-made titanium mesh tray and autogenous bone graft: a case report

conclusions using 3d ct scan to produce a prototype and reconstruct the mandible with a custom-made ti-mesh tray was useful. patient was followed up for 14 months. mandibular deviation was largely corrected. there was no complication in the donor site. no sign of extra or intra oral fistula, dehiscence or infection was detected. ti-mesh technique has three major advantages over other methods: i...
